RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, is a nationwide, nonprofit organization founded in 1974 to serve the needs of those who are striving to build a family. Its mission is to provide timely, compassionate support and information to people who are experiencing infertility, and to increase awareness of infertility issues through advocacy and public education. Infertility, a disease that results in the abnormal functioning of the reproductive system, affects 6.1 million people in the U.S.
RESOLVE’s services include a national telephone HelpLine, Family Building magazine (published quarterly), over 60 RESOLVE publications, a physician referral service, medical call-in hours, a member-to-member contact system, and support services through more than 50 chapters. RESOLVE’s advocacy program follows legislative activity at both state and national levels on issues of concern for family-building. The RESOLVE Web site is a source of information for all of RESOLVE’s activities, including ongoing advocacy updates.
Because infertility is a hidden disease, RESOLVE endeavors to bring education and awareness to the general public, as well as to those affected by the infertility experience, so that the medical, emotional and legislative issues can be effectively addressed.
This organization has completed the National Health Council’s Standards of Excellence Certification Program and meets the highest standards of accountability, ethical practice, organizational effectiveness, and good public stewardship.
