Build Your Network, Build Your Knowledge through NHC Membership

Lindsay Marcal, Director, Membership

At the National Health Council (NHC), we bring diverse organizations together to forge consensus, drive patient-centered health policy, and provide a united voice for the more than 160 million people with chronic diseases and disabilities and their family caregivers.

Our work is driven by collaboration. With the continued support of NHC members, we envision a society in which all people have access to quality, affordable health care that respects personal goals and aspirations to promote their best possible health outcomes.

NHC membership connects you to a powerful network of peers and experts shaping the future of health care. Through our policy action team, affinity groups, and annual events, members exchange insights, drive advocacy, and strengthen their organizations’ leadership.

Key opportunities include:

    • Annual Events: Our signature gatherings—the Health Leadership Conference, Science of Patient Engagement Summit, Washington Representatives Meetings, and Annual Membership Meeting—bring the community together to share ideas and drive progress.
    • Government Relations Action Team (GRAT): Monthly meetings on critical policy issues—from AI and patient engagement to telehealth and health care reform—often featuring guest speakers.
    • Affinity Groups: Networking and discussion for leaders across roles, including CEOs, CFOs, scientific officers, communications, event professionals, and more.

All NHC in-person events are CAE-approved for ASAE professional development credit.

Your membership helps elevate your organization’s impact and visibility. Members can:

    • Share their work in the NHC Insider newsletter or the Putting Patients First blog
    • Promote open positions through the NHC Job Bank
    • Be featured in a Q&A spotlight introducing new members
    • Suggest content for NHC social media and communications

Plus, NHC Connect, our online community, makes it easier than ever to access critical information to drive impact and directly collaborate with each other in communities across the areas of AI, Finance, Health Equity, Policy, Programs and Patient Engagement, and more.

NHC members now have access to a new benefit: participation in PXI: Patient Experience + Innovation, the NHC’s Center for Patient Partnership in Health AI and Technology. PXI will connect NHC members with technology innovators and respond to tech-sector requests to engage patient organizations, patients, and partners in advancing health AI, digital health, and other technologies that serve patient needs.

We welcome our members to consider reserving the NHC office’s conference rooms at 1730 M St NW, Suite 650 in Washington, DC when you travel to or host activities in the DC metropolitan area. The NHC is also pleased to offer its members the opportunity to take advantage of NHC corporate hotel rates at six nearby hotels in Washington, DC.

The NHC’s success is built on the strength of our members, and your renewal ensures we can continue driving meaningful progress for patients in 2026 and beyond. Renew your membership today to stay connected, amplify your voice, and help shape a more equitable, patient-centered health system.
