Dr. Elisabeth Oehrlein Joins the National Health Council as Senior Director, Research and Programs

The National Health Council (NHC) has named Elisabeth Oehrlein, PhD, MS, as Senior Director, Research and Programs. In this newly created, leadership position, Dr. Oehrlein will lead NHC teams that prepare grant and sponsorship applications for research and program funding; plan for and execute NHC research projects and programs; and prepare reports, whitepapers, infographics, and other materials to support dissemination on the project and programmatic work.
“Elisabeth is a welcome addition to the NHC team,” said Marc Boutin, JD, NHC’s Chief Executive Officer. “As an author or collaborator on a number of research papers and publications, Elisabeth has the experience and eloquence to bring the lessons learned and findings from NHC’s projects and programs to life.”
Dr. Oehrlein brings extensive experience in both academia and industry to the NHC. She was most recently a research assistant and teaching assistant at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She also has worked in medical information and clinical safety and pharmacovigilance at Bristol-Meyers Squibb and GlaxoSmithKlein respectively in Munich, Germany and was a research assistant at Franklin & Marshall College’s Department of Chemistry in Lancaster, PA.
She earned her doctorate in pharmaceutical health services research and her master’s degree in epidemiology and public health from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and her bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College.
