National Health Council Statement on Statement on Senate Health Care Freedom Act
Washington, DC (July 28, 2017) - National Health Council Statement on Statement on Senate Health Care Freedom Act
The following statement is from NHC’s Chief Executive Officer, Marc Boutin:
We commend the Senate for putting patients first by voting down the Health Care Freedom Act early this morning. Now, Congress needs to come together and work on bipartisan solutions to immediately stabilize the insurance markets and, in the long-term, fix the current issues with the Affordable Care Act. This will ensure that Americans, especially those with chronic diseases and disabilities who need it most, have access to meaningful and affordable health care. We hope that this will now start an open and fair process, with seats at the table for all – especially those who are impacted the most. We, our members, and the 133 million Americans with chronic conditions we represent, stand ready to assist.
