If your company is committed to effective and affordable health care for your customers and employees, we invite you to join the Campaign to Put Patients First!
Led by the National Health Council, the Campaign to Put Patients First is a nationwide initiative dedicated to mobilizing people with chronic diseases and disabilities and their family care givers to work for effective and affordable health care – health care that meets their personal needs and goals.
The Campaign to Put Patients First will mobilize people with chronic diseases and disabilities to make their voices heard.
The Campaign is a three-year initiative to motivate one million people with chronic diseases and disabilities to make their voices heard. The goals are to
- Cover Everyone
- Curb Costs Responsibly
- Abolish Exclusions of Pre-existing Conditions
- Eliminate Lifetime Caps
- Ensure Access to Long-term and End-of-Life Care
To support the Campaign, the National Health Council is recruiting partners from the health care community and corporate America to raise $3 million dollars for advocacy activities, awareness programs, and national and community events.
The Campaign to Put Patients First draws the support of a diverse and dynamic group of partners. Companies with an interest in and commitment to health care, patient advocacy groups, and medical and health professional organizations are joining the Campaign to ensure that the collective voice of people with chronic diseases and disabilities is heard. It’s time to put patients first.
Corporate Relationships Policy
The National Health Council (NHC) considers first and foremost its mission and serving its constituents in all decisions, including whether to enter into a relationship with a for-profit entity. In many cases, activities that fulfill the NHC’s mission cannot be accomplished as well alone as they can be through collaboration and alliances among like-minded organizations. It is for this reason that the National Health Council seeks to forge appropriate and productive collaborative relationships with corporations and others. These relationships are entered into thoughtfully, with careful consideration given to possible unintended effects, especially regarding the organization’s relationship with the public.
The National Health Council will, unless otherwise prohibited by law, disclose the financial support it receives from those corporations identified on Schedule B of the IRS Form 990.
The disclosure information will be posted on the NHC’s website in an easily accessible location within six months of the close of the fiscal year.
Corporations will be grouped into monetary ranges for purposes of disclosure (e.g., $50,000 - $100,000). The disclosure information will also include the total amount of support received from all corporations.
