NHC/WebMD Chronic Disease & Disability Exchange -June 2010
In March, the National Health Council and WebMD launched its new Chronic Disease and Disability Exchange, an online forum with non-clinical discussions dedicated to the needs of people with chronic diseases and disabilities and their family caregivers.
In just two months, the number of viewers has doubled to more than 14,000 unique visitors. The discussions on the site have span a broad range of issues, including how to have joy in life while dealing with a disability, obtaining Social Security, talking with a new health care provider about your chronic condition, and affording prescriptions.
Visit the Exchange at http://exchanges.webmd.com/chronic-disease-and-disability-exchange.
The Exchange also provides exciting new opportunities for increased visibility for NHC member patient advocacy organizations. As of mid-May, three organizations have begun discussions with WebMD to have a presence on the Exchange page. In addition, information about the organizations will be searchable by the one million unique visitors who access the WebMD site each month.
