About the organization:

Founded in 1919, Easter Seals is an acknowledged pioneer in rehabilitation and support services to meet the needs of people with disabilities. Easter Seals' mission is to create solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities and other special needs and their families. Easter Seals offers five primary services: (1) medical rehabilitation, (2) job training and employment, (3) inclusive child care, (4) adult day services, and (5) camping, respite and recreation.

Easter Seals is recognized for its leadership role in many areas: innovative, community-based rehabilitation programs tailored to meet the unique and diverse needs of persons with disabilities and their families; promotion of assistive technology; the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act and other critical legislation; and award-winning public education and communication programs that encourage society to develop positive attitudes toward people with disabilities.

Easter Seals is a nationwide network of affiliate societies in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, all working together to serve more than one million people each year.
