the organization: RESOLVE: The National
Infertility Association, is a nationwide, nonprofit organization founded in 1974 to serve
the needs of those who are striving to build a family. Its mission is to provide timely,
compassionate support and information to people who are experiencing infertility, and to
increase awareness of infertility issues through advocacy and public education.
Infertility, a disease that results in the abnormal functioning of the reproductive
system, affects 6.1 million people in the U.S.
About the condition(s): RESOLVE addresses a wide range of conditions that may contribute to a diagnosis of infertility such as ovarian failure, tubal blockages, endometriosis and male factor problems. Infertility is typically diagnosed after a 12-month period of actively but unsuccessfully attempting to achieve a sustainable pregnancy and birth. RESOLVE also addresses chronic conditions that may affect fertility such as cancer, cystic fibrosis and other genetic disorders, as well as lifestyle and environmental factors that may impact family building clinically. Additionally, RESOLVE informs on a host of related issues such as assisted reproductive technologies, multiple miscarriages, multiple births and more. |
