National Psoriasis Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to finding a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and improving the health of individuals living with these diseases. Headquartered in Portland, Ore., the Psoriasis Foundation is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing & Communications. The Director of Marketing & Communications will lead the organization’s marketing, communications, and public relations activities and guide the team responsible for supporting these actions in an effort to advance the organization’s goals, strategic plan and mission.
Responsibilities include providing management level strategic leadership and implementation of marketing, communications, media relations, content strategy, brand management and audience development for the National Psoriasis Foundation. Essential job functions include developing and implementing marketing and communications plans to broaden awareness for the organization’s programs and events; creating marketing tactics for the Foundations many web products, e-communications, social media, and print materials; overseeing the development of the organization’s content strategy and overseeing its editorial products/publications, including the quarterly Psoriasis Advance magazine; developing and executing national promotional and awareness campaigns; creating and managing department/program budgets; ensuring the organization’s communication, marketing plans, and collateral materials adhere to established brand guidelines; and overseeing the marketing and communications staff.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, PR or related field, seven to ten years’ experience in a marketing and communications leadership role, preferably for a not-for-profit or health care organization. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing a successful, comprehensive, strategic marketing and communications program; excellent writing and editing experience; experience overseeing the production of editorial publications; good leadership, management and interpersonal skills; and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure.
