National Health Council Statement on Passage of the American Health Care Act in the House of Representatives

Washington, DC (May 4, 2017) -  National Health Council Statement on Passage of the American Health Care Act  in the House of Representatives

The following statement is from NHC’s Chief Executive Officer, Marc Boutin:

The American Health Care Act (AHCA) is bad policy, bad for people, and especially bad for the 133 million Americans with chronic diseases and disabilities. Millions will lose health care coverage as the AHCA will return us to a system that allows insurers to charge outrageous prices for insurance and discriminate against those with pre-existing conditions, leading to less access and more costly health care. We strongly urge the Senate to put patients first and vote against this bill. Those who need affordable care the most are counting on them.
