Position Title: Senior Manager, Member Services
Reports To: Chief of Staff & Operations
Status: Exempt
 
OVERVIEW
 
The Senior Manager of Member Services coordinates membership recruitment and retention activities, develops and implements member services that reinforce the value of NHC membership.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in member services, including recruitment, retention, and development and delivery of value-added programs and services.
  • Experience working successfully with volunteers in a nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of voluntary health agency structure, governance, and operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Competency in computer systems and programs (preferably a working knowledge of  a customer relationship management system, such as CRM).
  • Demonstrated progressively responsible administrative experience requiring independent decision-making concerning management, planning, scheduling and assignment of work.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and track member recruitment activities; develop a specific recruitment plan for each top prospect.
  • Develop and update member recruitment materials.
  • Research new member prospects against membership criteria and other requirements.
  • Coordinate and track member engagement in key activities.
  • Coordinate member retention activities, including new member enrollment, new CEO welcome, and development of the annual renewal letters.
  • In conjunction with the Chief of Staff, build a robust membership, developing strong member recruitment plan and strategy for retention of existing members.
  • Serve as staff support to the Chief of Staff and the Membership Committee.
  • Provide technical assistance on management and governance issues to members on request. 
RELATIONSHIPS
  • Frequent interaction with the NHC staff at all levels.
  • Effective at working with others to reach common goals and objectives.
  • Frequent interaction with senior staff in many different operational areas within NHC member organizations, including the CEO.
