Each year, the National Health Council (NHC) hosts the Washington Representatives Retreat, a two-day event to gather staff from NHC member organizations to address strategic, operational, and development issues in the health policy environment.

The Washington Representatives Retreat provides a forum for NHC members to learn about emerging issues that are important to the patient community, share with each other how to effectively communicate advocacy efforts to policymakers and others within their own organizations, and network with colleagues. The retreat provides attendees an opportunity to help NHC staff prioritize issues and develop strategies to champion better access to affordable, effective health care for people with chronic diseases and disabilities.
